WHAT'S YOUR VINTAGE

Summer Fete - Choose loose natural bouquets of open roses, stems of veronica and freesia with heaps of garden style foliage - rosemary, small pitto, sprays of grass. Create buttonholes of foliage mix tied with a coordinating ribbon. Dress bridesmaids with wrist and hair corsages to match your bouquet. Decorate tables with a mix of glass jars, milk jugs, teapots or cups and saucers and fill with mini handtied clusters of single flower types - roses, hydrangeas, foliage. Hang pomanders, zinc buckets or glass jars from beams or ceilings, decorate bare walls or marquees with buntings in your colour theme. Line a ceremony aisle with shepherd hooks featuring hanging flowers. (See wedding gallery for reference)

Afternoon Tea - A simple handtied posy of roses or peonies accessorised with strings of pearls or lace. Follow this theme through your wedding flowers. Similar posy style arrangements can sit on pedestal cake stands for tablecentres, add cups and saucers as place names or gifts for the ladies making a perfect 'tea & cake' centrepiece. Create freestanding pedestals using large birdcages with clusters of your chosen flowers and trails of ivy and foliage.

Your dress and height will indicate the right choice of bouquet:-

  • A sheaf or overarm bouquet suits a long sleek dress.
  • A full shower bouquet works well with full skirts.
  • Pomanders suit short dresses.
  • Handtieds go with most styles.
